Ribbit, ribbit — time to hop to it! With their big googly eyes and long jumping legs, frogs are one of the most fun animals to craft. Colour these printable frog templates, cut them out, or download the PDF to print at full size. They're perfect for pond and minibeast themes, spring activities and science projects. Pick a frog below and print or download it.
Make a paper plate frog
Paint a paper plate bright green to make a chunky frog — or a lily pad for it to sit on! Add two big bulging eyes on top, fold the plate for a wide mouth, and stick on a long red paper tongue catching a fly. Pop in some bent paper legs so it looks ready to leap. Glue your frog to a craft stick for a puppet, or make a folded "jumping frog" that really hops.
The frog life cycle
Frogs are brilliant for learning about life cycles. Use the templates to show each amazing stage: a clump of jelly-like eggs (frogspawn), a wriggly tadpole, a tadpole growing legs (a froglet), and finally a grown-up frog. Colour each stage and arrange them in a circle to show how the cycle goes round and round — a favourite spring science activity.
Pond friends, and F is for Frog
Frogs share their pond with lots of friends — add a turtle, a crocodile and a lizard for a watery scene, and explore the full animals collection. These templates are great for the letter "F" too. A few fun facts to share: a frog is an amphibian, which means it lives both in water and on land; it catches bugs with its long, sticky tongue; and here's how to tell a frog from a toad — frogs have smooth, damp skin and love to jump, while toads have dry, bumpy skin and prefer to walk.
