Busy as a beaver! These printable beaver templates star nature's hardest-working builder — with a flat paddle tail and big front teeth, the beaver is famous for chopping wood and building dams. Colour them, cut them out, or download the PDF to print at full size, then craft, build and learn. Pick a beaver below and print or download it.

Nature's little engineer

Beavers are amazing builders! They gnaw down trees and use the logs to build dams and cosy homes called lodges. Turn it into a fun STEM challenge: glue your beaver beside a paper river, then stack twigs, lolly sticks or strips of brown paper to build your own pretend dam. A few facts to amaze the kids: the beaver is the second-largest rodent in the world, it slaps its tail on the water to warn of danger, and the biggest beaver dam ever found is over 800 metres long!

Forest and river friends

The beaver is a favourite woodland and river animal. Print a whole nature crew with a squirrel and a fox, and explore lots more in the full animals collection.

B is for Beaver

Colour the parts, then cut and glue them together — including that big flat tail and two front teeth. Glue your beaver onto a paper bag for a quick puppet. It's a perfect "busy beaver" craft for the letter "B", and a great fit for a Canada theme too — the beaver is Canada's national animal, just right for Canada Day on the 1st of July.
