Craft a hooded cobra
The hood is the cobra's superpower! Colour yours in bold patterns and add two big eyes and a forked tongue. Wrap a coiled cobra around a cardboard tube for a stand-up snake, glue one to a craft stick for a puppet, or make a cobra crown — cut out the head and hood and tape it to a paper headband so kids can wear it for a reptile lesson or dress-up.

Cobras are amazing! When a cobra feels threatened, it rears up and spreads the loose skin around its neck into a wide "hood" to look big and scary. The king cobra is the longest venomous snake in the world, and some cobras can even spit! Cobras "talk" with a low hiss that almost sounds like a growl.
