Colour these printable kangaroo templates, cut them out, or download the PDF to print at full size. They're perfect for Australian animal themes, letter K activities and bouncy craft fun. Pick a kangaroo below and print or download it.

Make a kangaroo with a pouch

The best part of a kangaroo craft is the pouch! Glue or tape just the bottom and sides of the pouch so it makes a little pocket, then pop a baby joey inside — peeking out, just like in real life. It's a lovely interactive craft, and a sweet Mother's Day card too: a mummy kangaroo carrying her baby. Wrap a kangaroo around a cardboard tube to make it stand up, or glue it to a craft stick for a puppet.

Aussie animal friends

The kangaroo is a true Australian! Hop over to its outback neighbours: the sleepy koala and the funny platypus. Explore the full animals collection for more.

K is for Kangaroo

The kangaroo is the star of the letter "K" — colour one in while you practise the "K" sound. It's also a "marsupial", which means the mum carries her tiny baby (called a "joey") in a pouch on her tummy until it's big enough to hop out. Kangaroos bounce along on their strong back legs and use their thick tail for balance — and here's a funny fact: a kangaroo can't really walk backwards!
